Q: Tell us about yourself – what do you do when you’re not teaching? What are your hobbies? What other formats do you teach? Give us a little on your background.
A: I work a full-time job as an analyst for Umbrella insurance at Liberty Mutual. Aside from that, I don’t currently teach other formats, but I am a health/fitness geek so I love trying other formats and different fitness classes! I’ve gotten into yoga recently and went on a yoga retreat in the Bahamas and absolutely loved it. I’m planning my next yoga retreat already! I also love vegan baking/cooking and am a big advocate for #bakingforbirthdays.
Q: How would you describe BollyX in one word?
A: FIERCE.
Q: What is your favorite part of BollyX class?
A: The performance, because that’s when even the most shy person in class loses all inhibitions and doesn’t hold back their swagger!
Q: How has working with BollyX changed you or your lifestyle?
A: I’ve always had an interest in fitness, and I feel that becoming a BollyX instructor was a great way to be able to pursue that passion on a larger scale. I feel truly blessed to be a part of the #BXFam. I have made a lot of new friends and have had the opportunity to learn from some of the most inspirational people. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach some incredible people, and it is so rewarding to be a part of a positive hour in someone’s day with each class I teach. I will always be thankful to BollyX for helping me begin my group fitness journey, and I look forward to continuing to dance it out and seeing where this journey takes me next!
Q: How long have you been with BollyX and what inspired you to join the community?
A: I started in June 2015, so I just celebrated my one year anniversary! I signed up for training because a friend (shoutout to Shriya!) told me I would love it since I was on a dance team in college and was looking for a way to get back into dancing. The training day was the first BollyX class I had ever taken, and it kicked my butt, but i LOVED that. I knew right then that I was going to become addicted to the format!
Q: What is your favorite BollyX song to teach?
A: Too many good ones, but ultimate favorite is I Hate Luv Storys. (singing along encouraged ;))
Q: Where do you teach BollyX?
A: MIT Alumni Wang Center and a new class that just started this summer at Commonwealth Sports Club!
