Q: When did you first know you wanted to start Saffron Fix and what was the point that really made you go for it?
A: This idea came about while I was in business school in 2014. Knowing that I was looking to partner with someone who understands the Indian cuisine very well, a friend connected me with Madhuri. Together, we ran a successful Kickstarter campaign and saw tremendous demand. That gave us the validation and served as a proof-of-concept for us to really want to pursue this further. But given other commitments in our lives then, it was only in early 2017 that we were really able to go for it.
Q: What is the inspiration behind Saffron Fix?
A: Saffron Fix’s goal is to offer you an exciting meal option that you can cook in under 30 minutes, in the comfort of your home. Inspired by Indian cuisine, our recipes are full of bold flavors and exciting ingredients that you would otherwise not know where to purchase or how to cook with. Since our ingredients come chopped, there are no knife skills needed, it saves the consumer a lot of time and effort, and a typical recipe is ready to be served in 30 minutes or less.
Q: How would you describe your brand in three words?
A: Bold, exciting and delicious
Q: What’s your favorite Saffron Fix recipe right now and why?
A: Masala Quinoa Bowl, which is on the menu in June. I love quinoa – it’s tasty and healthy! The roasted vegetables and the yogurt chutney add a ton of freshness and flavor, making it a perfect recipe for the summer.
Q: What makes your product different from other brands and why would you recommend it to BollyX lovers?
A: Our meal-kit doesn’t offer bland recipes like say, chicken with vegetables. Our recipes are packed with flavor and there is something unique and exciting about each new menu. Since our ingredients come pre-chopped, you can get down straight to the fun part of cooking – and skip the boring part of cutting and chopping! And since they only takes 30 minutes to cook, you can go for that BollyX class and still have enough time left to make dinner!
Q: How does Saffron Fix encourage its customers to “unleash their inner rockstars?”
