Q: When did you first know you wanted to start Ozmo and what was the point that really made you go for it?
A: Prior to starting Ozmo, our founders Ming and Serena ran a design house together and created some award winning industrial designs for the houseware industry. However, they soon realized that the day their new product was launched in the market was also the day their product value started to depreciate. They were eager to develop something more challenging and hence decided to ride on the wave of “Internet of Things” and “Wearable Technology”. At that point, they decided to create Ozmo.
Back then in 2015, no one really knew what the “Internet of Things” was. All Ming and Serena really knew was that they wanted to create something to address one of the most fundamental needs of human beings: drinking water for better health. Here at Ozmo, we believe that the Ozmo water app working in conjunction with the Ozmo smart cup will only continue to create new value to the Ozmo ecosystem. We will be able to add new features, advice, data insights, and even water challenges to our app and continue to engage our users in the long run.
Q: What is the inspiration behind Ozmo?
A: The inspiration behind Ozmo was the realization about the importance of hydration. After seeing the negative effects of dehydration, our founders realized that they wanted to spread knowledge about hydration and create a product that could help with this problem. They realized that many American’s lack of knowledge about hydration and the importance of it.

Q: What’s your favorite Ozmo product right now and why?
A: Our favorite Ozmo product right now is the Ozmo Active Fusion. Fusion is one of our newest colors and we are very excited about this product because it’s a combination of Seafoam Green and Grey. It is a limited-edition color that is available only on Amazon and to the BollyX Community. This is our first cup that really combined two different colors.
We are also really excited about a new feature in our app: an easy-to-use barcode scanner. This new feature makes it easier for our users to obtain nutritional information on major consumer food products. Here at Ozmo we really value health and we understand that it’s not just about what our users drink, but also what they consume. We want our users to stay properly hydrated, but we also wanted to add this tool to make it easier for them to eat healthy.
Q: What makes your product different from other brands and why would you recommend it to BollyX lovers?
A: Ozmo is not just a water tracking cup, but it is your customizable hydration experience that provides you with insights. Integrated with all major activity trackers in the market including Fitbit, Garmin, Misfit and Apple Watch, the Ozmo app is your hydration coach to provide you with insights on how to stay hydrated after your BollyX classes based on data collected from your tracker. We understand that drinking eight cups of water a day is not a reasonable goal for everybody. Ozmo will create your own personalized hydration goal based on your metabolism rate and external environment, making sure that you can perform the best while at work or when dancing at your BollyX class.
Our Ozmo active cup is also unique because it not only has the ability to track water, but also coffee. We understand that being hydrated is important, but we also know that people enjoy drinking coffee. Ozmo allows our users to keep track of coffee to make sure they aren’t drinking too much!
Q: How does Ozmo encourage its customers to “unleash their inner rockstars?”
A: Ozmo encourages its customers to unleash their inner rock stars by keeping them hydrated and healthy. Hydration is just as important as diet and exercise. Staying hydrated can increase athletic performance, increase focus, and help with weight loss. That being said, Ozmo can help you get through your day!
Q: What’s in the future for Ozmo?
A: In the future, we intend to include predictive analysis and an achievement leaderboard. With predictive analysis in place, the Ozmo water app will know if you attend a BollyX class every Friday night and will remind you Friday morning that you will need to drink more water to perform better at your class. We would also like to create the leaderboard in hopes that it will help motivate our users to drink more water. There will be challenges that they can join with people they know or even their BollyX classmates. We also plan to create an Ozmo device for people who are interested in more extreme and endurance sports.
Q: Anything else you’d like to add?
A: Ozmo is not only comprised of our Smart Cup, but also our Ozmo App. Although you can use the cup without the app, we believe that the app is what makes Ozmo stand out. Our app allows users to create customized hydration goals. At Ozmo, we understand that not all people need to consume the same amount of water daily because not all people have the same lifestyle. The app allows users to input information such as: age, height, weight, and activity level. It then creates a specific hydration goal based on that individual user. The app also provides a visual that instantly updates once the user takes a sip of water from the cup, as well as weekly reports.
