Q: When did you first know you wanted to start TEMA Athletics and what was the point that really made you go for it?
A: After my daughter was born and I was trying hard to lose the extra pounds I had gained. I noticed that there was no activewear brand that catered to curvy ladies that was my style. In regular fashion industry, garments are usually designed for smaller frames and graded up based on a formula whether that works for curvy body or not. This inspired me to create a brand that targets embodying positivity in all body types.

Q: What is the inspiration behind TEMA Athletics?
A: My main inspiration behind TEMA came from my own need to create clothes for my body type. I’m someone who doesn’t have a stick thin body and is just average body type.

Q: How would you describe your brand in three words?
A: Approachable, versatile and cute!

Q: What’s your favorite product right now and why?
A: My favorite product is our Pyramid Mesh Legging (see right). It has cute mesh detail on the legs that give it breathability while also maintaining a trendy. It also looks great on all body types!

Q: What makes your product different from other brands and why would you recommend it to BollyX lovers?
A: Two things are very important to us when we design our clothes: First is that the styles work for all body types. Second, we value versatility in our pieces. They can be worn beyond gym and for a range of different activities. As we evolve as a brand these two things continue to be at the forefront of our minds.

Q: How does TEMA Athletics encourage its customers to “unleash their inner rockstars?”
A: We are big promoter of self love and women empowerment. We like to use women of all sizes as our models who can inspire other women out there to embrace themselves. We also feature women coming from different backgrounds on our “My Story” blog page. We hope to inspire people to get out of their comfort zones and embrace self love!

Q: What’s in the future for TEMA Athletics?
A: We are going to be expanding our clothing line and adding more styles for more versatility and variety: jackets, camis, sports bras, and athleisure will all be a part of this expansion. We want TEMA Athletics to be accepted as a Body Positive brand, regardless of size. Through TEMA we want to deliver styles for all ladies out there which are comfortable, flattering and versatile.
