This week’s instructor spotlight is on Vancouver instructor, Ashley! This music loving rockstar self identifies with an otter as her spirit animal and has also won a JLo lip sync contest! Read more about Ashley in our instructor interview with her below.
Q: Tell us about yourself – what do you do when you’re not teaching? What are your hobbies? What other formats do you teach? Give us a little on your background.
A: When I’m not unleashing inner rockstars on the dance floor or in a class room. I contribute my time to weekly training sessions and seminars on becoming a bold leader, coach, and seminar speaker on the topics of self-love, connection and relationships. My hobbies revolve around music, movement, self love practices and creating authentic connections and relationships with others in the community.
I grew up playing sports and performing since the age of 4. The karaoke machine was my best-friend and I would put on make-shift performances anywhere I’d go. Greatest accomplishment to date: Winning a lip sync contest to Jennifer Lopez – lets get loud. Girl Power for life!
I enjoy adventure, intimate conversations, acts of kindness, writing (blogging), coaching and creating possibilities with others. But above else, celebrating life with the people I care for the most (Quality Time)!! Moreover, I am someone who stands for highlighting others greatness and am here to inspire others to have full-blown self-expression, power, and freedom.
Q: How would you describe BollyX in one word?
A: Magic
Q: What is your favorite part of BollyX class?
A: Watching people come to life by getting out of their heads and into their hearts.
Q: How has working with BollyX changed you or your lifestyle?
A: It has empowered me to be unstoppable, bold and unconstrained to be my most authentic self. And more importantly, it has given me the opportunity to make a remarkable contribution by setting the stage for others to be inspired and do the same.
Q: How long have you been with BollyX?
A: ~ 1 year
Q: What is your favorite BollyX song to teach?
A: Ah man that is a tough one… but currently Nishana (because its so fierce) and then paired with the Western track: Let me Love You because, I love, love (the Bollywood romantic in me) and my class sings long on blast (on fleek).
